Coloring Colorado is headed up by Elizabeth Allen.
When Elizabeth was a tiny tot, her grandmother sent her into the cut flower garden to make arrangements for the dinner table, where a love for flowers blossomed somewhere between the fairy roses and the mint patch.
Playing in the woods and a strong draw to natural history nurtured that love until high school when Elizabeth got her first garden center job.
A pivotal moment happened in college when Elizabeth campaigned for a healing garden to be installed at her dorm as a place of respite from the intensity of student life. That garden is still there and helped launch Elizabeth's career as a manager at a native plants nursery after graduation.
Subsequently, she has worked in almost every aspect of the horticulture business including; nurseries, greenhouses, landscaping, garden design and maintenance, promotion and education.
Her journey took her to Colorado in 2010, and in 2011, Coloring Colorado was born.
In 2016, Elizabeth earned her CSU Native Plant Master designation and is a Master's degree candidate in Horticulture at Texas Tech University.
It is Elizabeth's heart to brighten people's days through flowers, and to enrich the lives around her with plants.
